Indian rupee edged lower against the greenback in morning trade. Rupee was down by 9 paise or 0.09% against USD to Rs 45.34 compared to previous close of 45.25. (09.20 a.m.)
At 9.20., the Sensex was trading down 49.51 points or 0.25% at 20,135.23 with 16 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 19.50 points or 0.32% at 6,028.75 with 27 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index dropped 0.009% to 80.84. It touched a high of 80.94 and a low of 80.76 after opening at 80.82. (22:44 ET)
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.0003% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 83.33 up 0.0085%. (22:41 ET).
